Well, after having even kept in contact with Simon GK4ELI, and with other hams, I’ve recently decided to unlink the binaries from my web site. I’ve learned that this happened to several other hams wanting to share the freeware version, and probably with the same, non courteous approach used with me. I used to share those files from this page but, two years ago I had to remove them from my hosting space, after being “kindly asked” from W4PC. Now this company is asking everyone that is sharing the old binaries from their site, to remove every copy of it.

I export the MixW log into N3FJP periodically, and use FJP to do LoTW, and all QSLing, it also gives me a full backup of my log It however does have a steep learning curve, and does not support LoTW yet. There have been three or four updates in the past few months, and more to come, as per the development team. MixW really does automate a contest, and better yet, the "Rig Expert" folks are actively working on it again. I then fire a macro for the exchange, and when I complete the contact, I hit save, and MixW logs the contact, uploads it to eQSL, (if I have configured it that way), and if I am in contest mode, then shows the current realtime score I have for that contest. All from that single double click of my mouse. I click on a spot, in the MixW cluster window, the K3 then tunes to that frequency, puts the rig in the right mode, tightens down the bandwidth, inserts the call in the log, and then looks up the call on QRZ.COM, and populates the rest of the log entries, like zone, QTH, name, etc. I also know that MixW will totally and completely control my K3. You probably should ask the author that question though. Sorry to say not a clue, however I do know that N3FJP has exposed his internals to allow software authors the ability to drop call signs directly into the log. Recommendations for a simpler logging program with fewer bugs would be greatly appreciated.
Yes these are petty things but there are plenty of them. Who needs all those zeros? This takes up much needed column width. Moreover, all frequecies are displayed with six decimals! Like 7.151.000. The support person told me that's normal. Just as an example, I have to re-set column widths every time I start the program. I am also guessing that they no longer have any developers working on improvements or fixes. I presume they are having financial problems and guessing that they are just stripping this product for every last dime they can get out of it. The last time I called for support (I called maybe once in the last year) I was told to "RTFM," which was further explained to me as "Read the F-ing Manual." The software has some serious flaws and I understand that they have reduced their support staff to only one person. Well after using it now for about three years I feel I must alert the ham population about this clunky, inflexible, software and their poor customer service support.
